• Going to bed after a hard day of practice. Hopefully I’ll have some time to blog soon. #
• Heading to breakfast, first day of full pads. I’m at that level of soreness where every few steps your leg buckles. #
• Up and at ‘em for the first two-a-day practice. Not the most enjoyable thing I’ve ever done. #
• Heading over to practice. It is still dark. I think that might be a first for me. #
• I’ve come to the conclusion that training camp is like the movie Groundhog’s Day, but much more oft-repeating and much less funny. #
• Second day of two-a-days is done. We’re doing a great job of practicing with tempo and fire. #
• Part of the downside of being a Division 3 transfer: having to go through orientation again. I want to poke my eyes out and bleed to death. #
• Orientation was bad enough the first time around when you were one of the amped-up freshmen. This time it’s just flat out unbearable. #
• This speaker just said “a-gayne” instead of “again” and “ah-currately” instead of “accurately”. I don’t hate orientation, I “haht” it. #
• Getting ready to practice, thunder outside. I am very scared of getting struck by lightning. #
• Practice got postponed until 4:30 today due to errant Iowa weather that will ensure this afternoon’s outing to be wet and unpleasant. #
• On the bright side, though, I did get signed up for all the classes I wanted. I have yet to register that those classes start tomorrow. #
• Looking at the bruises on my arms from camp, you’d think I was severely beaten with a bat. Actually, I think I was too. #
• My next door neighbor is constantly playing the violin. It makes me feel like I live in the Victorian era. #
• My linguistics professor just said: “I’m not a big admirer of human beings as a species.” Not really sure what to make of that. #
• My cleats are starting to get ground down from the long walk to Grinnell’s practice fields. Pretty soon I’ll basibally be in tennis shoes. #
• Camp is over. Enjoying my first night off by watching the Broncos game with @aTaylorKendrick. #
• I am endlessly proud of my brethren back in Denver who are mercilessly booing Cutler. Hopefully some jeers are raining down on McDaniels too #
• I hate students in lectures that raise their hands palm up, as if to show a state of enlightenment (and ask another brown-nosing question). #
• Strange piece of a conversation I heard while walking across campus today: “Yeah, but science can’t tell you not to kill people.” #

• Of course now we’re having our weekly 6:45 AM meetings on the day I don’t have class til 12:45. Murphy’s law is always there waiting for me. #
• I hate it when hippies hang their laundry up in their windows. It makes my dorm building feel like Bosnia. #
• Just got done with a nice, focused Thursday practice. Ended up going with “Get Rich or Die Tryin” for the Thursday fake tattoo. Very classy. #
• What is it about colleges and universities that necessitates having a huge sundial in the middle of campus? #
• Trying to relax the night before the game. About to watch “I Love You Man”. Taking it easy, staying cool and confident. #
• Insult to injury: the day after an excruciating loss to St. Norbert my computer decides it no longer wishes to browse the internet properly. #
• That 6:45 AM meeting tomorrow is gonna be rough to get up for. Especially when I know my first class tomorrow is at 12:45. Hard knock life. #
