Who writes The D3 Experience?

My name is Chris Jarmon, and I am a Junior football player at Grinnell College, a member of Division III’s Midwest Conference. This is my second year at Grinnell, since I transferred after the last school I was at (Colorado College) dropped football. I earned Honorable Mention All-Conference my first year playing at CC, and I couldn’t imagine my life without football, so I decided to join the Grinnell Football Family. I also earned an Honorable Mention for All-Midwest Conference in my sophomore year, so I’m working hard at building on that success. I hope to reach the ranks of All-American by the time I graduate.

I am an English major, and hopefully after I graduate I’ll begin a career as a sportswriter or broadcaster. I’ve spent both summers in college working at NFL Films, first as an intern and most recently as a production assistant for the NFL Network show “NFL Playbook”. I hope to continue this promising career trajectory during my last 2 years of undergraduate education.

Playing football at a Division III institution seemed like an interesting topic to start a blog about before my freshman season, and I felt that writing about my experiences in high school and college would be a great service to high school athletes considering Division III, as well as D3 fans, players, parents and coaches. Hopefully it will also allow me to improve my writing ability, and serve as a great way to look back on my experiences when my football career is over.
