Who writes The D3 Experience?

My name is Chris Jarmon, and I am a sophomore football player at Grinnell College, a member of Division III’s Midwest Conference. This is my first year at Grinnell, since I transferred after the last school I was at (Colorado College) dropped football. I earned Honorable Mention All-Conference my first year playing at CC, and I couldn’t imagine my life without football, so I decided to join the Grinnell Football Family for the next 3 years. I also earned an Honorable Mention for All-Midwest Conference in my sophomore year, so I’m working hard at building on that success.

I plan on majoring in English, and hopefully (unless my plans change) afterwards I’ll begin a career as a sportswriter or broadcaster; I spent last summer interning for NFL Films and learning about the inner workings of the industry. Playing football at a Division III institution seemed like an interesting topic to start a blog about before my freshman season, and I felt like writing about my experiences in high school and college would be a great service to high school athletes considering Division III, as well as D3 fans, players, parents and coaches. Hopefully it will also allow me to improve my writing ability, and serve as a great way to look back on my experiences when my football career is over.
